Snoopy’s Last Day. as told from her eyes

If you are reading this then that means I am now in heaven. I just wanted to tell you the story of my last day. I got up at about 9 am and daddy took me upstairs so I could go outside and potty. We then came back downstairs and had breakfast, he gave me some of his bagel with cream cheese, yummy. Cream Cheese is my favorite.

After breakfast I laid on the floor and slept until momma got up. When momma got up I greeted her and followed her to the bathroom. I then laid back down until mom and dad got dressed and we went upstairs.. to my surprise I got to go on a little road trip.

We went through North Branch, then made our way to taylors falls. On the way I heard mom and dad taking about dinner, and what I heard was KFC. They also talked about stopping at the scenic overlook in taylors falls but when we got to it found there were lots of people there. We got our food at KFC then went down to across the bridge in osceola and stopped at the park in minnesota. We had a yummy dinner, mom fed me some chicken, biscuit and potato wedges.  After dinner daddy put me on a rock with mom and took some pictures. Then I had pictures taken with daddy. We walked around the park for a while then got back in the car and went west on hwy 8. The next thing I know we stop and DQ and I hear daddy order two cones and a small dish of vanilla ice cream. OH BOY I bet the dish is for me… yep I was right a few minutes later we stop at a picnic table and mommy gave me the dish of ice cream… it was so yummy. After the ice cream we got back in the car and drove some more. Our next stop was at the blue sky animal hospital… I really don’t like this place but went inside with mommy and daddy. Next thing I know we are in an exam room and daddy lifted me up onto the table. They started petting me and then started crying and that is when I knew something wasn’t right. Then the doctor came in and gave me a shot, which really hurt and I made sure he knew it. A little bit later I got really sleepy and decided to lay down. Mommy and daddy still kept petting me and the crying increased. They kept saying how much they love me and how good a dog I was and that is when I got really worried. I got really sleepy and didn’t know what was going on, but could still feel them petting me and kissing me. A few minutes later I felt another prick from a shot and could hear mom and dad say goodbye. It got harder and harder to breathe and then a few moments later I found myself in a very different place. I look around and saw hundreds of thousands of dogs… but no people. Where are all the people? Then I was greeted by another dog and was told welcome to heaven. I just want to tell mommy and daddy I love you too and I am fine and have lots of fun here. I am not in any pain now, can run and jump and look at all those rabbits I can chase. Thank you mommy and daddy for taking such great care of me, loving me and for all the wonderful memories. I was blessed by the 12 years I had with some many wonderful people.

Difficult Day

Hello Friends and family
Today is a difficult day for Carey and I, A day we knew was coming but time can never prepare you for it. Today snoopy will be going to heaven. We have been so blessed to have her in our life. I for 12 years and Carey for 5. We noticed over the summer that she was breathing heavy and just thought it was from the heat. Then about a month ago we found a growth on a back leg. We took her in to the vet to get it checked and that was the least of the vets concerns. He noticed several things with her walking and breathing and that is when we found out about the fluid around her lungs and stomach. He put her on Lasik to get the fluid off. It has helped some but since we haven’t addressed the cause of the fluid buildup the weight has not come off enough to help her spine. The past month has been the most difficult seeing her sleeping a lot, not being able to go upstairs on her own and losing control her bladder.  She is just not the same happy dog and it is time, as difficult as it is for us, for her to go to heaven. We would appreciate all your prayers in the difficult time for us. We thank God for the time he has given us with her, she has been the best dog I have ever known.

We Love you Snoopy. We have lots of memories and you will be missed.

On a brighter subject since our last post lots of good things have happened… We celebrated my mom’s 70th birthday in august. I celebrated my 13th anniversary at Connecting Point. We went to two more Twins games at Target field. The biggest event in the past few months though was our 3rd wedding anniversary. We went to the Grand Casino in Hinckley, ate at the grand buffet, played some penny slots. We even won $50 on one of the slots. We also spent some time in the pool. It was a very romantic time for us and a much needed getaway.

Upcoming for us is a trip to Florida at the end of the month. We are going with Carey’s mom and brother to see the shuttle launch and also hoping to go to SeaWorld and Busch gardens if money allows.

I would once again thank you all for your prayers in the difficult time.
